One of my favorite things right now is old doors.  There is so much character that can be found in a simple piece of old wood.  Here are a couple of great ideas.

We have decided to work together on business ventures. Working together our furniture has been picked up by The City Farmhouse in downtown Franklin, www.cityfarmhou

Surprise

A truly great surprise was waking up one Sunday morning to find a house that I had decorated on the cover of the Tennessean Real Estate section. The title was Home Buyers getting more for their money - Personal touches draw clients. http://www.tennessean.com/article/20120219/LIFE04/302190027/Home-buyers-getting-more-their-money

Rustic Warm Living Room

One of my favorite things about doing interior design is the way it allows me to getting to know people. There is no better way to discover who a person is than to go into their home and listen to what they like and desire out of a space. Sometimes they don't even know how to tell me what they like - but as we talk and explore options, they light up as their discover their own personal style. It is so important to me when designing a space for someone that I use things that compliment a person or family. I work hard to incorporate old family items, hobbies, collectables, etc into the decor. This allows a space to reflect a one of a kind feeling for my clients.

This couple had a special Bible verse that meant a lot to them. I painted the verse on an old piece of barn wood and hung it above an old window frame & shutters. Digging through boxes I found items that had their wedding date engraved on them. Pulling out the items I displayed them around the room - to their surprise. After finishing the project here is what they said, "Just wanted to let you know how much we LOVE IT!! and I mean all of us! You got quite the compliment after you left when Paul walked up the stairs for something...and he said Oh WOW you have to come see it from this angle. It looks so good! Then later that night Matthew was walking thru and said "She made it look so nice in here mommy" all I could say was YES SHE DID!! You did an amazing job and we are so pleased!! Thank you for all of your hard work to make our sad den look comfy and homey!!"
